British Aikido Federation - Juniors
About our Juniors
Aikido is a unique martial art that emphasizes harmony and self-defence without aggression. It teaches children valuable skills such as balance, coordination and discipline, all while fostering a sense of respect for themselves and others. Through techniques, young practitioners learn to redirect an opponent's energy, which not only promotes physical fitness but also encourages mental resilience and problem-solving abilities.
Training in Aikido can greatly benefit children's social skills as they engage with peers in a supportive environment. The practice instils confidence and self-control, helping children to handle challenging situations both on and off the mat. As they progress in their training, they develop a strong sense of community and camaraderie, making Aikido an enriching experience that supports their growth and development.
